MNB was formed by ex Wilhem/Muskalunge members in 1997 with an attempt to create interesting
instrumental music. The band consists of Alf Bartone (The Fire Still Burns) and
Ron Paige (Five Bolt Main) switching off on electric bass, Bob McHugh on
piano and sax, Erik McHugh on acoustic and electric guitar,
and Dan Nolan (Elemae) on drums and percussion. The new release
(cover photo below) demonstrates what MNB is all about.
MNB's latest cd contains 10 new tunes and all of Dwell
(MNB's first release). The songs are a mix of rock, jazz,
and folk. MNB's sound is based on free improvisational melody
over a groove oriented rhythm section. Dwell and the new cd
(self titled - MNB) were recorded by Chris Badami. All cover art by Dan Nolan.
